Why this liberal is for the war.

As long as we choose to call what is going on in Iraq a war we have no choise but to be for it. As long as we are using the neocons words we will have to continue to support the effort. If it is a war then we must fight to defend our country. Bush tells us that our country is in danger. If they are fighting us then we are going to have to fight them. As long as we continue to accept Bush's words and arguments we will have not choice but to support the troops because if we don't fight them there we're going to have to fight them here. We can't just cut and run. That would be cowardly and foolish. That would be Unamerican.

 But if we choose our own words and arguments we're not going to have to do much fighting. If we call the situation in Iraq an occupation and we are the occupiers then we can disengage, withdraw. If the situation in Iraq is an occupation then we have nothing to win and nothing to loose. After all the people who are killing our soldiers have no army, no navy, and no air force. They have no generals, no high command, no officers, no tanks, no submairnes. They do not even have a horse cavelry. They only have men who are willing to strap bombs on to themselves and blow up American soldiers. While it is dangerous for the soldiers to be there this sort of thing doesn't endanger American Security. If we are occupying a country that is in the midst of civil strife / conflict we need to get the hell out of there. The problem lies not with us giving up anything. The problem is us staying and getting killed over nothing. It's their country. Let them settle it. We support the troops by withdrawing and ending Bush's failed neocon policy based on lies.
