Con: Should the US have Universal Health Care?

Weight for your arguement
Be careful when you decide what has weight and what doesn't. Your evolution example isn't entirely accurate. There is very little scientific evidence for the Evolution theory. In fact, the ammount of physical evidence for that theory couldn't even fill the back of a pick-up truck. Creationism has equal, if not more weight than evolution because there is a greater belief for it. So in reality, evolution has less weight. So i repeat, be careful when ... [read more]

Iraq
I agree with Ken Goodman. We are in this war to protect our Country. We have to finish what we started. if we back out now people will just believe that we are weak and come after us and try to take over the USA

Pro: Should the US have Universal Health Care?

SICKO shows us what we have known all along, our healthcare system does not work
It amazes me how dumbed down people in this country have become. Everyday in the news media you get plenty of "the other side" of the story. You got your Fox News, your CNN's, etc. all reporting outrageous things in order to keep the news interesting. What Moore is doing is giving you what CNN and Fox News ARE NOT willing to give you -- the other side of the story. Moore is doing what nobody else seems to have the ballz to do -- and that is, to stand up for the rights of the ... [read more]

Pro: Should the US have Universal Health Care?

SICKO is not biased, it's fact
If socialized medicine out performs the US health care system on most measurable metrics and the documentary says exactly that ... it isn't biased. It's factual. There is a perception that to be "fair" you have to devote 1/2 your air time to the contrary argument, but that is only truly fair when both arguments have equal weight. Creationism, for example, has very little scientific support. Evolution has tons. At some point, the argument for Creationism ceases to deserve ... [read more]

Criminal charges aren't going to happen
I hate to put a damper on the 'hopeful' possibility of criminal charges brought against the current administration - it certainly would be a wonderful moment in History to live through - it just will not happen. Too many politicians have their hands dirty. These postulations on the reason for criminal charges will never see the light of day, mainly due to the incompetence in the Senate and Congress - we will assuredly see another 'dropping of the ball.'
We need to ... [read more]

This administration covers its tracks well and won't give in so easily
Firing federal prosecutors for political reasons is sleazy, but not illegal; they serve at the pleasure of the president, and he can fire them if he feels like it. Furthermore, the Justice Department is part of the executive branch, so an executive privilege claim is actually not that hard to make, unless Congress has some reason to believe there was a crime. Part of the purpose of executive privilege is to prevent Congress from unduly interfering with the Executive Branch. It's being ... [read more]

Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton, don't let it happen
This doesn't sound like a lineage of US presidents, this sounds like a dictatorship where the few control the country. Think of it this way, if Hillary gets elected then the US executive branch would have been controlled by two families for at least 24 years.
Hillary Clinton's campaign website asks 'Ready for Change?,' however, voting for her would be the exact opposite. Let's be clear, I have no problem with her being a woman. I wish there was a better female ... [read more]

Pro: Iraq War

Why this liberal is for the war.
As long as we choose to call what is going on in Iraq a war we have no choise but to be for it. As long as we are using the neocons words we will have to continue to support the effort. If it is a war then we must fight to defend our country. Bush tells us that our country is in danger. If they are fighting us then we are going to have to fight them. As long as we continue to accept Bush's words and arguments we will have not choice but to support the troops because if we don't ... [read more]

Why can't Bush at least compromise?
Both the House and Senate have come together to resolve their differences regarding the Iraq funding bill. This level of cooperation in Washington is a welcome site, but it seems that the President won't budge. Why can't he at least sit down with them and work something out?
Bush does not want a timetable for withdrawal. I know he thinks that setting a timetable would be bad for the war effort, but what about a phased ... [read more]
